Kennedy Harness Racing colours

Craig and Nicky had my horses over the winter while I was on overseas. They were jogged up and conditioned to the workout stage and I was very happy with the results. Lewy Risk was taken through to being ready to win his trial and Bay Emerald, Alta Mario and Trouble Whiz were all ready to perform well at workouts and then train on to go well at the races.

I was very happy with the job done and the horses were all happy and fit. I have no hesitation in recommending their skill, horsemanship and care to any other owner or trainer.

To Whom it May Concern
It is with pleasure and indeed an honour to be given this opportunity to say a few words, as to the character and personality of the above persons.
Craig was employed by John Earl, a Saddler at Winton, in Southland and I was training horses at the time and therefore did quite a lot of business with them. I clearly remember Craig putting a lot of effort and seemed very conscious of the tasks that were assigned to him. Craig trained at Winton on his own account and was very successful.

Craig and Nikki had a farm at Oxford, not far from my own farm, and we exchanged ideas and knowledge relating to both farming and harness racing. In true fashion of their desire to become
professional in the harness racing industry, it was no surprise to me that when the opportunity came to acquire their Cust property, and as well as being employed by Benny Hill at Eyreton, Craig
mentioned to me it was the best day he ever spent getting a chance to work for one of the best trainers in the business and speaks volumes of the clear path ahead that Craig and Nikki were prepared to take.

Craig and Nikki worked tirelessly to revamp their new property, which inmy opinion has been developed to a very high standard and would rate as one of the best in Canterbury.

Craig and Nikki pretrained a horse for myself just recently, the horse was well cared for and given the very best of attention which was a credit to them both.

I hope this information will be of some help to those who may need it and wish them every success in the future.

“ I have no hesitation and can thoroughly recommend Craig (Sam) Kennedy as a competent and talented horseman in every field. From handling stallions and breeding to breaking in, pre training and training standardbreds, he has the all round game.

Although he has turned into a one-eyed Cantabrian he still lives by the old fashioned principles of the deep South, deadly honest and where your word is your bond and a handshake seals a deal”.

“Craig & Nicky have only been training for me for a short time, but I am very impressed with the way they turn their horses out.

Their setup is second to none and testament to the hard work they have put in which must return results in the long term.

Craig & Nicky are both hard working honest people who won’t let you down.

I would happily recommend their training establishment to any owner looking for that individual care & attention which isn’t always guaranteed in some larger stables.”
